Just the two boys out today, and older boy showed the way gaining a 2nd in the GR Good Citizen Dog class, where not just beauty counts, they have to hold Bronze or above Good Citizen Obedience awards too. Unfortunately in Thorns classs, too many dogs and not enough places for him to figure in the awards.

Now its time for a rest for her whilst her new coat grows back in, so it will be the boys only for a ccouple of shows now.

Just a short 2 hours drive saw us up at Edinburgh for this show, and Orchid has now decided to change her coat for a new winter one has coat falling out everywhere! Anyway, Orchid still did us proud with a 5th place in Post Graduate bitch. This will probably be her last champ show now until Crufts when her new coat should be back in.
Berkshire Downs & Chilterns G. R C Champ Show - 6/11/11
A long journey down to Slough with a stopover with family was well rewarded when Orchid won the Post Graduate Bitch class, thats twice in 2 weeks! In the final bitch line up she stood beside her older half sister (Clovers Mum) who had won her class too. Not often half sisters make it to the final line up! Well done my special little Orchid x

Stanhope Agricultural Soc. open Show - 11.09.11
A rarther windy day in the Weardale valley where I was litterally 'blown away'!
Thorn won the Golden Retriever puppy class with Best Puppy in Breed, Clover 2nd in Junior, Orchid won the graduate class and Brook won the Open. Thorn then went up against the other Gundog puppies for the Best Puppy in Group, and to my amazement he won the group! This took him forward to compete for best puupy in show, he tried his best but his young age showed against the older puppies from the other groups and he lost out on the final phase, but we are still so proud of him, such an achievement for his tender 7 months of age.

A long drive down to Stoneleigh for me after being at an Open show in Woolsingham yesterday where Clover won Best Puppy in Breed, Orchid won Limit GR and Brook won Open GR.
Unfortunately Thorn wasn't placed in his class but his mother, Orchid was 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch, gaining another Crufts 2012 qualifire and 2nd in GR Good Citizen Bitch, so it made the trip well worth while and the long drive home a lot easier!

Border Union Championship Show - 18.06.11
A lovely day at Kelso, and the rain managed to hold off long enough for our classes.
Clover, now 9 months old was 5th in GR Puppy Bitch and 4th GR Novice Bitch under Judge Mr kjell Svensson (Seacrest) from Sweeden. I also put her in Any Variety Novice Gundog, Hound, Terrier Dog or Bitch and she gained a very respectable 3rd place under Mrs Kay Aspin (Scartwaite). This was her first time competing against other breeds and I was so pleased with her, she really has become a lovely young lady.
Brook unfortunately wasn't place in his post grad dog class, but he is up against the 'big boys' now and it really does come down to personal preference now.

Northumberland County Show - 30/5/2011
A very early start for this show - arriving at the showground at 7.45am just to be able to get parked. Our classes didn't get started for the goldies until 2.30pm!
Clover was 3rd in GR puppy but went on to win GR Junior and picked up her first Junior warrant point. Brook decided he was on top form and flew around the ring to gain 1st in GR Open, unfortunately it wasn't quite enough to take the Best of Breed from a lovely bitch that he challenged against. A very long day, but at least we had the main show to look around, and the others came to for a day out, with Thorn having his first venture to a show.

A very windy day with drizzle rain and yes, we were outdoors!
Clover was 2nd in GR Minor Puppy and 3rd in GR Puppy, Brook surprised me by winning a very strong Post Graduate class, by this time the rain had also stopped too. Unfortunately he didn't get anything in the challenge, but at least he made his mark.

Tweedmouth Canine Society Open Show - 22.04.11
Well it was Brooks turn today, he won the Golden Retriever Open class and then went on to win Best of Breed, and if that wasn't good enough, he went on to take 4th in the Gundog Group! Now it looks like I've got some rivalry between Orchid & him now as they both have the same number of points towards their Show Certificate of Merits. Unfortunately though Orchid has now well lost her coat and won't be in the show ring for a few months, time for Brook to overtake?
Sunday, 17 April 2011
Sunderland & District open Show - 17.04.11
Another good day for the 'gang' Clover won the Golden Retriever Junior Class and went Best Puppy in Breed, Orchid won GR graduate, and Brook won GR Open. Orchid went on to win the Best in Breed, not bad for a lady that had pups just 12 weeks ago!

Thorn update - 11 weeks old
Well training starts young here, so here is our first attempt at show standing.
Trying to get Thorn to stand still for 2 seconds is a major achievent, but time & patience we might have it mastered by 6 months old.
And here he is relaxing

Consett Open Show - 10.04.11
Its only 11 weeks tomorrow since Orchid had her pups, and today she was back in the ring and won the Golden Retriever Post Graduate class, unfortunately in the Best of Breed line up she decided to 'work her ticket'!! and throw it all away. nevermind, there's always next week, hopefully her coat will hold for 2 more weeks but it is coming out now.
Clover managed a 4th in Puppy class - she was the babay there, and Brook a 4th in the Open class, unfortunately his coat is leaving rapidly too now.

Clover Qualifies for Crufts 2012
At Scottish Breeds Championship Show today, Clover was placed 3rd in Minor Puppy Bitch. This was her first big show and has qualified her for Crufts 2012. I never thought at her first show she would get a placing being so young, let alone a qualifier place! Roll on her next show.....
Monday, 21 March 2011
Cheviot & Berwick Canine Society Limit Show 19.03.11 - Wooler
A very successful day for us as Brook went Reserve Best in Show after winning his Golden Retriever class with Orchid taking 2nd place (not bad for just having pups 8 weeks ago)
Clover had her first outing and won the Any Variety Minor Puppy class and 2nd in the AV Puppy Bitch class, and Willow was 3rd in AV veteran class.
Brook was a star and received a gorgeous rosette, goodie bag and trophy to hold until the next show.
Clover will be competing at her first Championship show on Saturday, so fingers crossed.

7 weeks old
I dont know where the last 2 weeks have gone, but they have and the pups start leaving for their new homes today. They had their micro-chips put in yesterday and given a clean bill of health by the vet. Since it was such a sunny day and warm they ventured into the garden for an hour or so whilst I took some pictures of them.

After 4 hours labour, Orchid managed to get the pups out. First one was 615 grams in weight, no wonder he was a bit stuck! Anyway, she's had 3 boys, all big and ranging from light to dark in colour. Now its resting time for her, I wish I could get a few hour sleep!
Monday, 24 January 2011
Things are starting to happen....
Orchids temperature dropped late last night and she has been restless all night. This is first stage of whelping and the time can vary on how long this last to the first pups arriving, so we will just have to wait now.
Sunday, 23 January 2011
Still waiting........
Well the official due date is today, but looks like Orchid is going to make us wait a little longer, she's far too busy eating her roast bone to go into labour at the moment!

Welcome to Beaupippin Golden Retrievers Blog
As I have had so many problems lately with my current website provider, I have decided to set up a blog for my kennel as well to keep everyone up to date on what is happening. I have a seperate page for each dog too which gives there details/pedigrees etc and what they have been up to.
It will take a little while to set up, but hopefully it will fill the gap so to speak.
Enjoy reading.
